Bike Month Activities

BikeMonth2011_Banner

Ahhh...bike month.

The one time of year everybody dusts off their bike, airs up their tires and takes their bike for a spin. Wait a minute? One month a year? That’s no good. We want you to ride all year long, not just in May.

But May is a special month. A month devoted to the bike. One where we encourage others to rediscover their bike and the joy that comes from riding. So I Bike Fresno will have a virtual bike buffet of fun things coming this May. You’ll be able to find more details in our calendar, news and blog posts.

You may as well get out your bike now. You know...so you’re ready to go. Event details and dates subject to change

Million Mile Challenge

millionmile_thumb May 1 - May 31

We are challenging the Greater Fresno area to ride one million miles in the month of May. We’re challenging you to find new, exciting and sometimes ordinary ways to ride your bike everyday in May. To the store, to work, to the park, on the bike trails, on the bike lanes, on your residential streets...every mile counts as we try to pedal together towards this awesome goal. Click here for more info on the Million Mile Challenge.

Our Kick off to Bike Month! The time has finally come to take that lonely, neglected bike with the flat tires and the rusty chain that has been just sitting in your garage, and pull it out into the sunshine and get it fixed. Bring your neglected bike to I Bike Fresno's FREE community event, "Revive Your Bike." Click here for full details!

Sponsored by the Fresno County Bicycle Coalition, hop on your bike for a fun ride straight down Blackstone. The Fresno Police Department stops traffic and allows bikes to take back the road for a few miles. Bike Valet At Clovis Farmers Market

bikesMay 6 - Sept 30

Every Friday, starting May 13th - Sept 30

NOTE: CLOVIS FARMERS MARKET HAS MOVED THEIR FIRST NIGHT TO MAY 13TH. THERE IS NO MAY 6TH MARKET.

What is bike valet? Well, it’s exactly like it sounds. Ride your bike to the Clovis Farmers Market and we’ll valet park your bike for free (tips welcome). Just come to our booth and we’ll park your bike and watch it for you. Enjoy the food and fun and when you’re done; retrieve your bike, saddle up and ride home. Booth will be located at 5th & Pollasky. Click here for the flyer.

The great thing about the CFM is that it’s located right off the Sugar Pine Trail. You can ride the trail from as far as Riverpark and ride right into Downtown Clovis. It’s perfect for a fun and safe ride for families. Make Fridays extra fun this summer and get your bike valeted at the Clovis Farmers Market.
