About Us
During the past 5 years, the Fresno County Bicycle Coalition, City of Fresno, Council of Fresno County Governments, San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and other organizations and businesses have been involved in various activities surrounding May is Bike Month celebrations. These have included the Bike to Work Corporate Challenge, the Manchester Mall to Fulton Mall ride, a safety public service campaign and other outreach activities. This year is going to be a pivotal turning point for the Fresno region and biking. The City of Fresno Public Works Traffic Engineering Division in conjunction with the City of Fresno Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee is finishing up the yearlong planning process with enormous public input for one of the most progressive and comprehensive Bicycle Master Plans (BMP) in the State of California to transform our City into a more bicycle-friendly community. We are fortunate that Measure C has more than $55 million for the region for bike infrastructure and the BMP will ensure we are implementing bike projects that have the greatest positive impact on the community.
In the City of Fresno and our entire region, we are not only focused on building the infrastructure but also looking ahead to change the culture of transportation through education and encouragement.
