I picked up a pizza on my bike this weekend. There is a Me-n-Ed’s a mile from my house.
Precious cargo.
This isn't the first time I have picked up a pizza on my bike. One time I was on a business trip in Philadelphia and instead of renting a car we rented bikes. It was so much fun to see the city that way and it was really convenient too. The rental guy dropped them off at our hotel then when we flew out we just locked them to a pole and he picked them up later.
Highly reccomend trying the "rent a bike instead of a car" on your next out-of-towner.
Back to this weekend, the cargo net turned out to be the perfect size for containing a large pizza box (the blue bungie was just excessive). The pie made it home safe-and-sound. It was the tiniest bit cold so I am thinking one of those magic red pizza bags is in order.
Pepperoni and pinnapple. A delicious choice.
So I have a challenge for you this May. Try riding your bike to do something you normally would use your car to do. It can be something as simple as picking up a pizza or maybe riding to see a movie. It just may surprise you how fun it is. The simple joy of riding your bike to do an everyday thing.
