Bikes and Buses!

It's been pretty cold/rainy/dark/blah these last few weeks which means I haven't been riding my bike to work as much as I'd like. But that does mean that I've been able to ride the bus a lot.  One of my favorite things in the world is riding the bus and I've been really excited to see so many people utilizing the bike racks on the front of the buses. One young chap, sporting a dapper hat, on my morning route went from solely riding the bus (he gets on the bus before me and disembarks the bus at the same stop as me) to biking and bussing a month ago. Now, rain or shine, he bikes and busses everyday.

It really made me think about my own method of getting around town. I'm an avid bike commuting advocate. I've tried to overcome all my friend's objections as to why they can't ride their bike to work. I've (theoretically) solved problems like changes of clothes, distance, time, cost, fitness, knowledge and more. But when it comes to my own transportation around the city it's always been either bike, bus or car. No combination of the three.

Seeing my jauntily capped fellow commuter use the bike and bus combo technique really opened my eyes to how I get around town when I'm not doing the straight shot commute to work and back. There's no reason I couldn't bike/bus move about the rest of the city. Movies, a friend's house, parties, concerts...the possibilities are endless.

Thanks to my well chapeaued fella on the 26 Line, it's time to get my Bike and Bus ON!!!
